Utsav Executive Volunteer Seema Sharma, generously opened her home and gave her time to conduct Indian cooking classes. UTSAV was honored to organize and host a unique Hasya Kavi Sammelan featuring Dr. Ashok Chakradhar, Dr. Sneha Chakradhar, and Mr. Abhinav Shukla. This was a distinctive event that highlighted the artistic beauty of poetry blended with humor and dance. It was a successful evening that brought many people from our local communities together for a specially entertaining evening.
Being a part of a community means that UTSAV also participates in and supports other community events. The CanDo5K race/walk hosted by My Village Northwest is one such example. This year Team UTSAV participated in the 5K race/walk to show our support for such a wonderful cause which highlights that children with disabilities are capable of achieving great things. It was a pleasure walking/running with the Utsav Team and those that wanted to show support for our cause as well as My Village Northwest's cause.
The Utsav team participated in the DVS fund raising event, where UTSAV donated $1000 worth of items and Seema Sharma generously made a personal donation of $2500 in the form of time and money.
UTSAV's Holiday Drive provided an opportunity for the community to contribute towards helping out those who are truly less fortunate and in need of a helping hand. Over the course of two weeks, generous donations were gathered together and then presented to the victims of domestic violence. The holiday season is not complete without the "Gift of Giving".
UTSAV was honored to organize and host the successful Falguni Pathak Concert in Seattle. The evening was dedicated to raising proceeds for the Domestic Violence Services of Snohomish County and The Cocoon House. The concert included beautiful music, singing, dancing, and priceless memories.
The first of many events to come, UTSAV kicked-off the 2016-17 school year with an awesome Back-to-School Celebration in September. The event included coloring contests, prize giveaways, many more fun activities to get children excited about the new school year.
